Building the Utility (EL158)
Course Length: 5 Hours/0.5 CEUs*
Course Description: This course outlines how capital projects are constructed. It provides you with tools to select the best design consultant.You will discover the various types of bidding processes (design/bid/build, design/build, etc.) and thought processes to consider in selecting how a project bid will be received. The focuses in the second module will provide you with insight into the inner-workings of constructing any project. The third module illustrates an actual project that includes the numerous tasks and timelines involved and discusses the concept of building green.
This course consists of the following three modules:
Module 1: Getting the Capital Project Started
Module 2: Construction Contracts
Module 3: Building a Project

• Explain the project design and construction process.
