How Water Works (EL310)

Course Description: This course is intended for those wishing to learn the overall basics of how water works as it moves from the source to your tap. The course will provide you with the general knowledge of the processes that take place your source water, within the water treatment plant, the distribution system, your own home, and wastewater facilities. This course will also allow you to identify key administrative processes within water utilities, and helpful management processes to create a sustainable water system.
This course consists of the following six modules:
Module 1: Overview of Water from Source to Tap
Module 2: Water Sources and Contamination
Module 3: Water Treatment Operations
Module 4: Distribution Operations
Module 5: Wastewater process
Module 6: Sustainable Water System Management
Learning Objectives:

Locate the areas where water passes through from the source to your tap.

Review the conventional water treatment process, and several alternative water treatment methods.
