Course Description: Fire hydrants are one of the many appurtenances on the water distribution system. We will cover the two different types of hydrants, how each one is utilitized, and importance of the fire hydrants and their placement.
Learning Objectives:
• Determine appropriate hydrants.
• Understand how the hydrant works.
• Need for maintenance to insure continuous operation.
• Have a basic understanding of the importance of their job to the community.
• The reasons for and importance of fire hydrants and their placement in pressured piping systems.
